The Disappearing Colors

The Disappearing Colors

The wind swirls around me,

Causing me to see.

The world screams my name

Showing me our earth, our own polluted gain.

The colors are fading

And we're all paying.

We're becoming black white and gray,

I want to keep these disappearing colors, I want them to stay.

Who's hearing us?

The government is corrupt! Thats a fact. There can't be a big government without it being corrupt, can there? I feel like the government, and everybody involved, only want to make more money for themselves. I feel like the government only hears those that are rich... Famous... Beautiful.... Grown up. But who's listening to me? Who's hearing what I have to say? Nobody. Who's listening to the cries of the mother who can't buy food for her children. Or who can barely heat the small house? Nobody.

Where can I find someone who will listen to what I feel should happen to our Nation? Where can I find someone who will listen to us... The kids... The middle and lower classes... The quiet... Who's going to listen to me? Is there anyone in the government... In the world that will listen to what I want to say? Will anyone hear me when I say that pollution is going to lead us to our own destruction? Will anybody listen to me when I say that I don't want a chip inserted into my skin? When I don't want the government to control my whole life? Does my opinion matter? Of course not. Nobody who can do anything, will listen to me. Why should they? We're just the ones that are going to inherit this world. We're the ones that are going to have to clean up after our elders. We're going to inherit this shit world... But that doesn't matter now does it?

We have a voices too, so why don't they hear it? I'm loud! I voice my opinion, so why is nobody listening to me? Because I'm not important? I'm important, you're important! We all are, so why aren't we being heard?

WHO'S HEARING MY VOICE? WHO'S HEARING ME? WHO'S HEARING ANY OF US??

Judicial Branch

There are three different sections of the judicial branch, District Courts, Courts of Appeals and the Supreme Court. Congress has the power to establish other courts. For example, in 1789 around the time of the very first congress, the district and appeals courts were created, they are called the lower courts.

The district courts decide both criminal and civil acts in states. District courts are the courts of the States. They mostly decide cases against a person who commits a crime against a person, or persons. They also settle cases where one person sues another person.

The courts of appeals handle the cases that were appealed from a district court. The defendant then has another chance to prove that he/she are innocent. If the court finds them innocent, the defendant is free to go but if the court finds the defendant guilty, they have one more chance to appeal their case to the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court is the highest court in the nation. The Supreme court helps to interperate the constitution to decide whether a law is unfair or not. The Supreme Court also has the power to help the congress pass laws. The Supreme court rules in all the cases regarding treaties, ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls and Jurisdiction;—to Controversies to which the United States shall be a Party;—to Controversies between two or more States;—between a State and Citizens of another State;—between Citizens of different States;—between Citizens of the same State claiming Lands under Grants of different States, and between a State, or the Citizens thereof, and foreign States, Citizens or Subjects.

To check the powers of both the executive and legislative branches, the judicial branch can veto and and pass laws.

I think that it is sort of fair that a Supreme Court Justice gets to serve life terms, because they have earned their seat on the Supreme Court, and if they're advanced in their years, then they probably won't be there for long anyway. So I think that is is fair. What I think would be even more fair, is if the president didn't get to say who the justices are once one dies, I think that WE the people should have a say at who gets chosen to be a justice on the Supreme Court. I also think that there should be an even number of both liberal and conservative judges. There should be four and four and the last one should be independent. It would make things way more fair.

Why does the different branches of the government get to make all of these choices for us? I think that it's not fair that they get to make all these choices for us. Pretty soon the word, "democracy" will be a thing of the past. It will be something kids learn about in school. It will be something that we tell our grandchildren about in the future. Why do they get to make these choices??? That isn't fair! Democracy is going to have a new meaning. Our country is going to make that word have a whole different meaning. It's going to start meaning that our government is in control of us. They will be able to control everything we do!

Barak Obama is President!!!!

My reaction to the outcome of this election is complicated. I am both frightened and angry, but I am also relieved. I am frightened and angry because I don't know what the future will hold for my family and I. I wonder how President Obama will change our country. I think he is an evil man and I am afraid of the choices that he will make. He can either raise our country from the deepest pit of political darkness that President Bush dug for us and threw us in, or he can dig us deeper into that pit and watch us, laughing, as we struggle to find a way out. But I am also a wee bit relieved that McCain did not win, because I think that McCain is more evil than Obama and I don't want our country to be dug deeper and deeper into that hole, so deep in fact, that it would be nearly impossible to dig ourselves out. I heard someone mention how, way more people have put so much of their faith into Obama and the government in this election than any election for about a hundred years. Well, those people call that faith, I call it ignorance. Not to be disrespectful, but I have lost all faith that I once had in our government. All of my trust disappeared after 9/11. All of it is gone and it will be hard to replace it. Really hard. I fear for the worst and I hope that I can still follow the dreams I had for my future. I hope that there is still hope for my generation, for my future, for my sisters' and brothers' futures. I hope that there is still HOPE. I don't like being so pessemistic, but I don't really see any thing to be optomistic about in the future of this country.
